Early morning Thursday begins with a chill and a little fog over the small lake outside the hotel.

Every morning at the convention people gather for a fellowship and breakfast. Coffee, juice and doughnuts.
Varje morgon samlas en trogen grupp för gemenskap och frukost på konventet. Kaffe, Juice och munkar.
People come together and get to know each other. Probably 200 – 300 are gathered for the morning fellowship.
Människor kommer tillsammans och lärkänna varandra. Det kanske är 200 - 300 som möts på detta sätt varje morgon.
The Swedish group feel at home and fit right in.
Den svenska gruppen känner sig hemma och passar in hur bra som helst.

For lunch the Swedish group goes to Popi´s Place. At the parking there is a fruit stand with lots of fresh fruit that we enjoy.
När det blir lunch åker den svenska gruppen till Popis Place. På parkeringsplatsen finns ett fruktstånd med massor av färsk frukt som vi köper av.
Popi´s Place is a local family restaurant, not part of a large chain.

Archie Watkins and the Smokey Mountain Reunion sang during the afternoon concert and the group really made an impact. Archie has a very long history in the gospel music. He formed the group Inspirations fifty years ago and in 2007 Archie was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Check out Archie´s home page: http://www.archiewatkins.com/
Archie Watkins och Smokey Mountain Reunion sjöng i eftermiddagens konsert och gruppen gjorde verkligen ett avtryck hos oss. Archie har en lång historia i gospelmusiken. Stig had his wonderful moment at the convention. During the afternoon concert Stig performed a couple of number, singing and playing his cornet. Amazing Grace played at the cornet lifted the audience. Stig said “I play the first verse in Swedish and the rest in English”. The background to the song “This world is not my home..” was made by Harry Arnold´s Big Band. Stig received standing ovations. It was a success. Afterwards lots of people came up to Stig to greet and thank him.
Stig spelade kornett och sjöng på eftermiddagens konsert vilket blev en stor framgång. När han spelade "Amazing Grace" lyfte hela publiken. Han sa "Jag spelar första versen på svenska och resten på engelska", ett skämt som gick hem. Bakgrunden till sången “This world is not my home..” hade gjorts av Harry Arnolds Storband. Stig fick stående ovationer. Den mottogs med stor glädje. Efteråt kom många fram och tackade och hälsade på Stig.

Sue and Ed Smith who met us at Tampa airport are our friends since a while. Ylva and Sue connected over the Gaither Community two years ago when they discovered that they both had a relation to Huskvarna. Ylva lives in Huskvarna and Sue sews at a Husqvarna sewing machine. Ylva, Ulla, Sue and Ed met during a Gaither concert in Orlando 2010. Ulla and Stig and Sue and Ed met at Gaither´s Fall Festival in Alexandria in October 2010. And now we meet in Palmetto FL. We invited Sue and Ed to dinner at our favorite place The Cracker Barrel.
Sue och Ed Smith som mötte oss på flygplatsen i Tampa är våra vänner sedan en tid. Ylva och Sue blev bekanta över Gaither Commnity sedan de upptäckt att båda hade relationer med Huskvarna. Ylva bor i Huskvarna och Sue syr på en Husqvarna symaskin. Ylva, Ulla, Sue och Ed möttes 2010 på en Gaither konsert i Orlando. Ulla, Stig, Sue och Ed möttes på Gaithers Höstefestival i Alexandria i oktober 2010. Och nu möts vi Palmetto FL. Vi bjuder Sue och Ed på middag på vårt favoritställe The Cracker Barrel.

Jeff and Sheri Easter were one of the attractive groups during the Thursday night concert. They were Sue and Ed´s favorites so that´s why Sue and Ed selected Thursday to come to Palmetto.
Jeff and Sheri Easter var några av favoriterna torsdag kväll. De var också Sue och Ed´s favoriter så därför valde torsdagen att komma till Palmetto.
